Some scary stories about Ghost Cars and Haunted vehicles.
The Back Seat Ghost
A woman was visiting the grave of her mother in 1959. She had brought along her camera to take photographs of the gravesite. After snapping a few shots of her mother’s gravestone, she turned to take a photo of her husband, who was waiting alone in the car. At least he thought he was alone. When the film was developed, the couple was more than surprised to see a figure wearing glasses sitting in the back seat of the car.
The Woman immediately recognized her mother – the woman whose grave they had visited on that day. A photographic expert who examined the photo determined that the image of the woman was not caused by reflection or double exposure. He said “I stake my reputation on the fact that the picture is genuine.”
The Haunted Family Car
A girl took a photo of her empty family car and after the pictures were developed, she discovered what looked like three figures lurking inside. She said they looked like her dead grandparents. The photo was checked for authenticity. They ruled out shadows and glare. The photo was determined to be authentic with no camera tricks.
The Legend of the Hairy Hands
On a narrow, misty stretch of road in Dartmoor, United Kingdom, there have been many sightings for almost a century of a gruesome pair of disembodied Hairy Hands that appear suddenly, grab at the steering wheel of a moving car and then force it off of the road.

Haunted Old Car
“When we were 10 years old, my friend and I used to love to make faces at passing cars on the highway when our parents were driving somewhere. One afternoon, on the way home from the grocery store, we turned around and looked out the back windshield to make faces at cars following behind us. We saw this dirty old rusty Chevrolet slowly catching up to us. We were giggling and about to make our best funny faces when we realized there was no one driving the car!
We couldn’t believe it! The creepy old car was rolling down the highway with no driver. Then it pulled out and started overtaking us. We could see right into the front of the car and there was nobody there. Just then it speeded up right on past us! We started yelling and screaming, telling my mom what we had seen but she didn’t believe us…”
