1. Halloween (1978)

The original movie that started the Halloween franchise, this was directed by John Carpenter and starred Jamie Lee Curtis. It begins with Michael Myers killing his own teenage sister on Halloween night in 1963. 15 years later, he escapes from the mental hospital where he is confined and starts stalking teenage babysitters in his hometown of Haddonfield. His focus seems to be on Laurie Strode and he is pursued by his psychiatrist, Dr. Sam Loomis.

2. Halloween II (1981)

The sequel picks up where the original left off. Michael Myers is still stalking Laurie Strode and it is revealed that she is his long lost sister.

3. Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)

In the 3rd movie of the series, John Carpenter decided to go in another direction. This film is about an evil toy company called Silver Shamrock Novelties that is making Halloween masks. Although it was a flop at the time because it didn’t feature Michael Myers, this movie is now considered a cult classic.

4. Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988)

Michael Myers comes back in the 4th movie. Laurie Strode has died in a car accident, but he starts stalking her daughter, Jamie Lloyd.

5. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers (1989)

The 5th film picks up where the 4th left off. Jamie is in a mental hospital and Dr. Loomis uses her as bait to trap Michael.

6. Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995)

Six years later, jamie has a newborn baby and Michael returns to stalk her. This movie features Tommy Doyle, the little boy Laurie was babysitting in the first movie and Kara Strode, Laurieâ€™s adoptive cousin.

7. Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)

The 7th movie is a reboot of the franchise that ignores all the events of the 4th, 5th and 6th movies. It is set 20 years after the 2nd movie and Laurie Strode is still alive and she has a teenage son. Michael turns up at the school where she teaches and begins killing the kids.

8. Halloween: Resurrection (2002)

The 8th movie picks up three years after H20 and Laurie Strode is in a mental institution. Michael shows up and kills her. Then, he travels back to Haddonfield and stalks a group of students who are filming a reality show.

9. Halloween (2007)

Rob Zombie directed a remake of the original Halloween film that focuses more on Michael killing his family and the years he spent in the mental asylum. He escapes and heads back to Haddonfield to find his sister Laurie, with his psychiatrist Dr. Loomis in hot pursuit.

10. Halloween II (2009)

This is a sequel to the remake and Michael resurfaces to track Laurie down. Michael and Laurie have a mental link and share visions of their mother.

Trick R Treat

Trick R Treat is a horror anthology movie featuring 4 Halloween-themed stories (The Principal, The School Bus Massacre Revisited, Surprise Party and Sam). Although this movie didn’t do well when it came out in theaters, it is now considered one of the best Halloween movies ever made.
