Scary For Kids

Slugs

Slugs is a funny scary poem. The illustrations come from a children’s book by David Greenberg.

Slugs

Some slugs are fat and squishy
Some slugs are thin and chewy
But when you get to what’s inside
They’re all extremely gooey

Slugs

Slugs in salad, slug supreme
Scrambled slugs on toast
Just be sure to cook them
The way you like them most

You can boil them up in oil
Or cook them in a stew
Or drop a couple in your mouth
And just begin to chew

Slugs

A bowl of slugs for breakfast,
Slug sandwiches for lunch
Fry them like potatoes
You’ll love the way they crunch

Slugs

Take a big and juicy slug
And squash it with your feet
And when it’s nice and tender
You can grill it just like meat

Slugs

At Halloween, the smaller slugs
Can really come in handy
You cover them in chocolate sauce
And hand them out as candy

Slugs

Place a live slug in your mouth
And keep it tightly shut
You’ll feel it sliding down your throat
And crawling out your butt

The largest slugs of all they say
Are as big as me and you
They come at night when you’re fast asleep
And this is what they do:

Slugs

They crawl right through your window
And drag you out of bed
And cover you with slime
From your toes up to your head

They’ll grab your arms and legs
And make you scream and shout
Then they’ll bend you and they’ll twist you
Until they turn you inside out

Slugs

The slugs will rattle and shake you
And pull you all apart
Until you lie in pieces
And that is just the start

They’ll put you back together
So your butt is on your nose
And your feet come out your ears
And your eyes are on your toes

Slugs

Then they’ll toss you in the garbage
And leave you there all night
Because of the way you’ve treated slugs
It will surely serve you right!
