Lady in White is a scary movie for kids starring Lukas Haas as a young boy who sees dead people, long before The Sixth Sense ever existed.
Lukas Haas is a young boy who lives in an idyllic small town, but the peace and quiet of his life is shattered when he sees something horrible one Halloween night. School bullies lock him in a school closet on Halloween and the terrified Lukas sees the ghost of a young girl and the man who murdered her years ago.
Shortly afterward he finds that he is being stalked by the killer and is soon drawn to an old house where a mysterious Lady In White lives. As he discovers the secret of the woman and her connection to the murder, he soon finds that the killer may be someone he already knows. Only he can solve the mystery and make sure the ghostly Lady in White can rest in peace.
Masquerading as a Spielberg type kid-friendly adventure, viewers will likely be taken aback by what sharp little teeth this spooky movie has. Part ghost story, part murder mystery, part nostalgic time capsule, this movie juggles dozens of storylines and themes, but is always focused on earning it’s genuine scares.
The scariest parts are the ghostly replay of the murder that took place in the school closet years before. The Lady in White’s first appearance at the window. The ghostly little girl coming into the boy’s bedroom. The Lady in white coming down the stairs behind the boy and the final moments when the killer is revealed and little Lukas Haas is in mortal danger.
If your kids ask you for a scary movie, this is the perfect one to show them.
