Under The Bed

Under The Bed is a scary urban legend about a family who go on holiday and check into a cheap hotel, only to find a scary surprise.

Under The Bed

A family went on vacation together and checked into a suite at a cheap old hotel. They booked two double rooms, one for the husband and wife and one for their children, a boy and a girl.

When they got to their room they both detected a bad odor. The husband called down to the front desk and asked to speak to the manager. He explained that the room smelled very bad and they would like another suite. The manager apologized and told the man that they were all booked because of a convention. But he said he was going to send a maid up to their room to clean and to try and get rid of the odor.

After lunch, the family went back to their rooms. When the kids walked into their room, they could both still smell the same odor. Again their father called the front desk and told the manager that the room still smelled really bad. The manager told the man that there was nothing he could do.

So the kids had to spend the night in the room. The girl and boy held their noses, trying not to breathe in the stink. Eventually, they got to sleep and in the morning, their parents were knocking at the door to wake them up.

When they opened the door, their father smelled the stink and decided he had to get to the bottom of what was causing this horrible smell. So he started searching the entire room for the source of the bad odor. He sniffed the towels, took down the curtains, and checked the carpet. The kids helped out too, checking the bedclothes and the mattress. As he pulled the top mattress off the bed, the young boy saw there was a big hole in the box spring base underneath. He looked down into the base of the bed and came face to face with a horrible sight.

There, lying curled up inside the base was the dead body of a woman. The boy realized that he had slept all night just a few inches away from a rotting corpse.

8 out of 10 dead corpses. How did the girl die? And who was she? We need this information!

Yuck. Disgusting! This story could use more work, like they should have made up a legend or something around the dead girl. Why did she die??? Important factor left out. And how stupid is the hotel manager and the cleaning ladies? They didn’t find the corpse when they were vacuuming the floors?

Wow. Um… Ok? The picture doesn’t really match the story but who really cares? It doesn’t really matter :p though I was hoping for a bit more of a jump scare :)

@carcar, That’s incest. The two sibling were the ones sleeping in that room, not the parents. Also why would anyone do that on a cheap, dirty hotel room?

UGH. Why does everyone say this picture is about a hotel?! It’s obviously a hospital, just look at her clothes and the bed! Not exactly the finest hotel, I’d say.
If I were to make up a story for the picture, it would be like this:
Once there was a girl who was very sick. She was so diseased that she had to be put into a hospital. The hospital was split in half, one of the buildings being the medical center, and the other the asylum. The poor girl was checked into the room in the medical center closest to the exit of the asylum. But it was a rare case in which patients escaped from the building, so everyone believed she was safe.
Not long after the sick girl was checked into the hospital, her twin sister seemed to be going through some… shall we say… changes. Her face paled almost to the shade of pure white, her hair matted into hundreds of tiny knots, and she whispered to herself more often than not:
    “I’m coming… I’m coming….”
Her parents already had a lot on their hands with the other girl in the medical center, so when their other daughter seemed to erupt into sudden insanity, they immediately checked her into the asylum. They needed time to calm down, and having a psycho kid in their house would not help matters.
The girl in the hospital did not know about the unfortunate happenings with her sister. But one day, the girl recieved a “visitor” while she was asleep. The visitor was uncovered a few days later by the girl, who complained of some kind of smell coming from her room. The source of the smell was quickly discovered by the girl’s parents who really visited her. When they discovered what had caused the stench, they screamed in horror, misery, and shock.
Under the hospital bed, between the floor and the mattress, lay the dead body of the twin sister with an IV cord around her neck, which had strangled her.
    Her sister had come.

And by the way, I made this up out of the blue. This is not true or anything, and I’m not saying that the other, real story is not true, either. i just want to point out that the picture does not fit the story. And if this is a hotel, I apologize greatly. They really need to change their room furnishings though. xD

Lol this story is based on actual events. Odds are someone had murdered another person and wanted to hide the body under a bed only to find someone else stuffed a dead body down there.

  15. whatismisophonia says

I’ve heard that people have actually checked into cheap hotels in the past, killed someone who was in there with them (bad drug deal or something), hid the body under the matress and checked out. The corpse is discovered after the next occupent complains of a foul smell.
