Antique Doll

The Antique Doll is a scary story about a young girl who receives a strange gift on her birthday.

Antique Doll

On the morning of her birthday, Lucy’s mother woke her up and told her a package had arrived in the mail and it was addressed to her.

The girl hurriedly unwrapped the gift and was horrified at what she found inside. It was the most disgusting old doll she had ever seen. It was completely bald and it’s skin was cracked and caked in dirt. The worst thing of all was it’s teeth. They were long, pointy, sharp and beastly. They looked like an animal’s fangs.

With a shiver, she took the doll and threw it in a corner. Her mother scolded her, telling her that someone had gone to a lot of trouble to send her this antique doll. Her mother told her she had better appreciate it.

Lucy tried to protest but her mother would not listen. She forced the young girl to keep the doll. So, to put her mind at rest Lucy stuffed the antique doll into the little cupboard under the stairs, behind a pile of shoes where she wouldn’t have to look at the ugly, evil little thing.

It was not until a few nights later, when Lucy was lying in bed that she heard a noise…a shuffling sound, which went on for about five minutes. Then, a brief dragging noise and finally, a scuttling like light footsteps walking very fast.

By now Lucy was shaking in her bed with fear, unable to move. Then, she thought she heard a faint raspy voice whispering quietly from downstairs. Lucy always slept with the door open and the landing light on, as she was a little scared of the dark.

She heard the voice say “Lucy, I’m on the first step”…And then loud scrabbling again as whatever was speaking apparently turned tail and returned to it’s place of hiding.

Lucy was so scared that she didn’t sleep a wink that night but laid in fear until the break of dawn, when her mother got her up for school

Lucy tried to explain to her mother what had happened the night before, but was so tired that, when her mother passed it off as “just a dream” she began to believe it might be the case.

Of course it wasn’t. Lucy begged her parents to let her throw the antique doll in the garbage, but they insisted that it was a present and she had to keep it. So Lucy reluctantly went back to bed, telling herself that it had only been a dream. She checked the cupboard under the stairs, but the doll was exactly where Lucy had left her.

That night, Lucy fought sleep but she eventually drifted off even though she had fought sleep. Presently, the deep disembodied voice woke Lucy again. She wondered if she could only hear it in her head.

“Luuuuccccyyyy! I’m on the fourth step…”, it said. Then came to scuffling noise and the voice didn’t reoccur that night. Lucy was crying by now, and again she didn’t sleep that night. At school, Lucy told her friends about the doll, and of course they laughed at her. Lucy could only think that if the doll was climbing four steps at a time then there was only one more night to go.

That night Lucy decided to shut her bedroom door. When her mother turned her light out she asked why Lucy was no longer scared of the dark. Lucy replied that she was and could she leave her light on instead of the hall light? But her mother pointed out that her bedroom light was so bright it would keep her awake, and said no.

Therefore Lucy agreed to just sleep without a light. She opened the bedroom curtains instead to light the room a little anyway. Just as she began to doze, she heard the noise.

And then the voice came, very clear this time. “Luuuuccccyyyy! I’m on the top step…”

In the darkness of her bedroom, Lucy heard a click and trembled with fear. She wasn’t sure, but she thought she could see her bedroom door opening very, very slowly.

The next morning, Lucy’s parents found her body at the bottom of the stairs. They guessed that she had been on her way to the toilet during the night and in the darkness, had slipped and fallen down the stairs, breaking her neck.

The antique doll was found beside her body, and was buried with Lucy. Everyone said what a tragedy it was.

“She loved that doll”, said her mother. “Now they can be together forever”.

  • Sorry for some errors; just typing toooo fast…😌😌😌
    Corrections=>( 1. doll’s
    2. Not ” arranged arranged”; only a single arranged…😌

  • #What happened:-This mother of Lucy’s packaged the doll to Lucy so that she could get rid of her daughter. Confused? Well, here are some reasons to confirm this:-
    1. When Lucy wanted to know the person’s name her mother said “someone”; isn’t it too suspicious that a mother lets her daughter keep a doll who has been sent by “someone”?
    2. When Lucy saw the doll, she was horrified and equally disgusted by it. Her mother, on the other hand didn’t seem surprised at all by that doll gruesome and ugly face.Lucy wanted to throw the doll away but her mother stood against it, which showed the mother’s firm determination in making her daughter keep that doll FORCEFULLY.
    3. When Lucy’s dead body was found the following morning, her mother wasn’t shocked at all, to be honest. Instead, when she saw the doll beneath Lucy, she claimed that Lucy liked the doll, knowing the strong hatred that Lucy held for that doll. She even arranged arranged for Lucy being buried together with the doll.🤔🤔
And one more thing, if you’ve read this story carefully, you might have noticed that in the end it said that “Lucy’s PARENTS found her dead body”; here if the story is mentioning “parents” there should have been a father behind the scenes as well. Which means that he could have been the one who sent the parcel OR if not so, he could have been involved in the main scheme.

  • Why would her mom say “She loved that doll, now they can be together forever” Is her mom really that stupid and dumb

  • The mum is stupid. Why would she let the poor child keep that hideous monster? “Someone had gone to a lot of trouble to send her that antique doll”, and who is that “someone”…

  • Probably her mom was “someone” who sent the weird doll ….
Poor girl, now doll would haunt her even after her death ….. I am relieved we don’t have such a ritual of burying people after death ..

  • Her parents probably wanted to get rid of her. Some parents do that.
Hence, the last line and the insistence of keeping the doll

  • “Someone” Went through a lot of trouble to send that gift to her? That’s the whole problem. Who’s “Someone”?

  • the mom is stupid. why would someone ask to throw something put if they liked it? my mom would make me throw it away or do it herself. she would never even let it in the house.

  • this is the most creepy doll i ever have seen. Its more creepy then Robert the haunted doll….

  • that woman is retarded. her daughter says that she doesn’t want it. And she buries it WITH her!?!?!?!?! she’s a messed up mother. For some reaaon, i Have a feeling that the mother mailed the doll just so she could get rid of her daughter… *…*

  • (new owner) I think her mom gave her the doll…And the cupboard under the stairs reminded me of Harry Potter. :)

  • I think the mother sent her the doll because no parent would ever say that about a scary doll and a girl to be together.

  • *saw the pic.
Sorry, I’ve been up all night and I guess it’s taking its toll. Judy, the ghost the haunts my room, kept tossing stuff in my bathroom… She seems to get really active around Halloween, but she started early this year._. She threw a bunch of stuff of my sink in my bathroom. Perfume went in the tub, some hair shiny stuff in the clothes basket, and my mascara just thrown across the room…. And she kept moving my plant around a bit, and I think… Tapping on the window. The tapping may have been the rose bush outside my window. Also, she kept opening and shutting my door._.

  • Hey! This is Chucky, but just a different name and that. For those of you haven’t heard Chucky, this is it:

There was this young girl called Emma who LOVED dolls. Her mother said she could get a new doll and they went to the toy shop and Emma saw a doll that she LOVED!! She fell in love with it straight away and her mum took it down and the shop keeper was not very keen on selling it, but they offered so much money that he finally said yes and gave Emma some advise; “Always lock it up, in the basement if you have one, but lock it up in a cage and dead bolt lock your door!” Emma went home, played with it and locked it away. In the night she heard a creepy, childish voice saying, “Emmmmaaaa,I’m on the first step, Eeeemmmmmmaaaaaa, I’m on the second step, Eeeeeemmmmmmmmmmmaaaaaaaaaaaa, I’m on the third step, EEEEEEEEMMMMMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAA, I’VE GOT A KNIFE!!!” She woke up in a cold sweat and ran into her parent’s room and found them dead. The next night it happened again, and she ran into her older brother’s bedroom and found him in a pool of blood. She had a mental breakdown and the next night she hear, “Emmmaaa, I’m on the first step, Eeemmmaaa, I’m on the second step, Eeeemmmmaaaa, I’m on the third step, Eeeeemmmmmaaaaa, I’ve got a knife, EEEEEMMMMMMAAAAA I’M GOING TO KILL YOU!!” Emma woke up again in cold sweat and the little, beautiful doll stopped the scream just as Emma tried to let it out. At least the last thing Emma saw was beautiful.

That is the story of Chucky. (BTW I forgot to say that the doll was called Chucky) It is scary for me because my name is Emma and I love dolls, but I don’t find it scary. I should do, but I don’t. Only screams and pop-ups scare me. No pathetic little story told at Primary School will scare me!!! (I am ten btw)

  • OMG! The baby doll’s a prison inmate!!!! XD Say hi to my English teacher for me, will ya, doll? (My brother is terrified of dolls. I read him the funny Cursed (or cursing) doll story and he freaked. I read him this, and he facepalms in terror. I keep 3 American Girl Dolls as my self-defense, they scare the &*#%@ outta him.)

  • Wow that kids parents are stupid. She kept asking to get rid of it and they said she loved it. At least if I got a realy ugly doll my parents wouldn’t make me keep it. Heck my mum would probably bin it so it wouldn’t give me nightmares.

  • Omw °̩ tell M̶̲̥̅̊ƴ mother °̩ don’t want Ŧђξ doll she would understand …..Λ₪d̶̲̥̅̊ °̩ agree with mutsumi ‎ℓ☺к̲̣̣̥ℓ true

  • The picture is retarted lol its lkike the shriveled up baby like gly baby storie lol really cool story though

  • this story haunted me since i was 9…i’m 12 and just getting over it…(shivers)

  • Even if my mum wouldn’t let me throw it away, I’d probably just smash it with a hammer anyway… But I’m pretty sure that she’d just let me throw it away.

  • That’s scary! I met really, she should have just thrown it away even though her mother said no, she should’ve just done it. I’m starting to wonder if her mother just packaged it from a different place then shipped it to her house to kill her daughter. I just have that feeling.

  • Sounds a bit like the first part of Child’s Play when Maggie puts Andy to bed and Chucky keeps coming out and turning on the TV

  • and thats why i dont have stairs OR dolls i find them creepy, i mean, think bout it, if u have a ghost its gonna posses that doll and its gonna KILL YOU!

  • oh how much i hate her mother!!!! im glad im too old for dolls!!! my mother would have thrown that away as soon as she got it…

  • This is like the story about this girl who buys a huge doll, but it has no fingers. When the girl went to sleep she forgot to bring the doll upstairs. And then at night when the girl’s sleeping, The doll comes up, “I am on the first step, i am on the second step, i am on the third step, I’m in the hallway I’m by your door, I’m in your bedroom I’m beside your bed!” CHOP! The doll chopped the girl’s fingers off and put them on her own hands.
