Demon Possession is a creepy story by a member of this website named Phantom-Menace-Wolf.
My name is Juno and this is a story that has haunted my family and I for years. The events have been burned into my memory and even though it happened a long time ago, I can still picture every detail as if it was yesterday.
Not long after my older sister, Lilith, got married, she gave birth to a little baby boy. She christened him “Michael”. He had pale skin and dark eyes. When he was only four years old, we began to notice that he wasn’t like other boys.
He never spoke a word and never looked anybody in the eye. While most boys his age would have fun playing outside, he would remain in his room, silently brooding and staring out the window. Lilith said this was because he didn’t get along with the other children and at the time, I was willing to believe her. However, when I quizzed some of the local children, they all said the same thing:
“We don’t like Michael. He’s evil!”
As Michael grew older, he seemed to become even more pale and his eyes always had a sinister gleam in them. He refused to speak. This concerned the rest of us, but whenever I mentioned it to Lilith’s husband he would just shrug his shoulders like it didn’t matter.
Michael’s behavior became even more bizarre. Often, he would disappear for hours. When his mother searched for him, she would eventually discover him in the woods, killing small insects and animals and hanging their bodies on trees. On one occasion, all of the knives in the kitchen went missing. Lilith found them under Michael’s bed.
It was the middle of Winter and Lilith was going to dinner with her husband. She asked me to babysit Michael. She sounded desperate, so I reluctantly agreed. I knew it had been ages since she and her husband had been able to go out to dinner alone.
I met them in the driveway, just as they were leaving. They gave me a phone number where I could contact them and then they drove away. I strolled into the house and looked upstairs. The lights were off and the house was in complete darkness. I wanted to see how Michael was doing, so I wandered upstairs.
When I opened the door to Michael’s bedroom, a chill crept down my spine. I peered into the darkness and saw him sitting cross-legged on his bed, staring out of the window. He had his back to me.
Working up the courage, I said “Hey, Michael.”
There was no answer.
I repeated myself, in case he didn’t hear me. “Hey Michael! Are you alright?”
Still no answer.
I was starting to get a little irritated, so I walked into the room and gently put my hand on his shoulder. I was about to tell him it was rude to ignore people, when I noticed something that scarred me for life. I raised my hand a little and was horrified to see that his skin was sticking to my fingers.
I screamed hysterically and jerked my hand away. Strings of torn flesh hung off his shoulder. Suddenly, the room seemed to grow even darker and I realized that the walls had black tar seeping out of the cracks. I wanted to run but I was so terrified that I couldn’t move a muscle.
Then, without moving his body, Michael’s head turned slowly around until he was staring directly at me. I could hardly bear to look at him. His skin was so pale it was almost glowing in the dark and his eyes were so black and lifeless that it made the hair on the back of my neck stand on end. It was like nothing I had ever seen before.
Just then, his face started to change. It seemed to be shifting and splitting apart, like cracks in fine china. Black tar trickled out of the cracks in his face. I panicked and began to back slowly out of the room. His dark eyes never left mine. He just stared at me as I retreated.
Running downstairs, I called Lilith and when she picked up the phone, I just managed to croak, “You have to come home now!”
“Juno?” she asked when she heard my terrified voice. “What is it? What’s wrong?”
“It’s Michael!” I whispered. “There’s something wrong with Michael! Come quick!”
A little while later, Lilith and her husband burst through the front door and demanded to know what was happening. I couldn’t speak, I just pointed upstairs. Lilith just looked at me like I was insane, but her husband went upstairs to check on Michael.
When he opened the door to his son’s room, he let out a horrible shriek and shouted “Lilith! Get up here!”
He sounded so terrified that Lilith immediately ran upstairs and I followed close behind. When my sister peered into Michael’s bedroom, she almost fainted at the horrendous sight that lay before her.
The little boy’s limbs looked like they had been twisted around his body. His arms were dislocated and his legs were wrapped around his stomach. It was as if his entire body had been stretched and tied into a knot.
Lilith’s husband phoned the hospital and we waited anxiously for an ambulance to arrive. When the paramedics saw the condition the boy was in, they immediately laid him on a stretcher and rushed him to hospital.
The doctors examined him and scratched their heads in bewilderment. After conducting a number of tests, one doctor scanned through the results and noticed something that shocked him.
“There seems to be something living in your son,” he said hoarsely. “I don’t know how to explain it.”
The doctor conferred with his colleagues for a while, then came back into the room. He stopped for a second and just stared at us.
Finally, he said, “We think your son may be possessed by a demon.”
We all gasped in horror. We couldn’t believe it was true, but there seemed to be no other explanation for the traumatic events.
A group of Catholic priests were called in and they attempted to preform an exorcism on Michael. They kept him in a hospital room, while we waited nervously outside. We could hear Michael’s groans coming from inside the room, as the priests did whatever they could to release the demon that lurked inside of him.
A few hours passed. Lilith was sobbing quietly in the corner while her husband tried to comfort her.
Unexpectedly, the lights started to flicker and we were plunged into darkness. Suddenly, I heard terrified screams coming from the hospital room. Then, there was a sickening ripping sound. More screams echoed through the corridor. Without thinking, Lilith and her husband scrambled out of their seats and ran into the room. I stayed in the corridor, afraid to move a muscle.
Then there was a dead silence and the lights came back on.
Cautiously, I stood up and slowly opened the door. What I saw terrified me to my very soul. Blood covered the entire room and dismembered corpses littered the floor. One of the priests had been beheaded. His back was completely ripped open and his spine had been pulled out along with his head. Another priest lay in pieces in the corner, his severed limbs still twitching.
Then, my eyes caught sight of Lilith and her husband. They were lying on the floor in a pool of blood. Their eyes were blank, their bodies were stiff and their skin was shrivelled and wrinkled. It was like something had just sucked the life out of them.
Kneeling over them was a repulsive looking beast with puss and blood oozing out of it’s back. It was eating the remains of my sister and her husband. It turned at looked at me over its shoulder.
I recognized the pale face and dark eyes of a young boy I used to know.
(Phantom-Menace-Wolf says: Hope you like it! This is one of my first horror stories so tell me what you think and sorry if it’s really long.)
