Talking Doll

The Talking Doll is a scary tale about an old woman who loves dolls and a young woman who hates them.

Talking Doll

There was an old couple who had hired a new maid to help around their house. The wife had a huge doll collection, and the maid was expected to dust them once a week. So once a week the maid walked into the room where the dolls were stored and looked at them in disgust. She hated dolls. While she was dusting, she came across a particularly strange doll. It was a talking doll and it had a cord in the back. The maid was intrested and pulled the cord. The doll said, “Hello.” The maid pulled the cord again. “I love my momma”, said the doll. The maid put the doll back and continued cleaning.

A few weeks later, while dusting off the dolls, the maid accidently knocked a doll over. It shattered as soon as it hit the ground. The old woman heard the sound and went to investigate. When she walked into the room and saw her shattered doll, a very sad look came across her face. The maid saw this quickly and said, “I’m really sorry. I didn’t mean to break her. I won’t do it again.” The old woman looked down at her sad, broken doll and told the maid that she could only keep her job if she promised to be extra careful around the dolls. The maid agreed.

The next day, the old couple left the maid alone while they went out to run some errands. The maid was in such a bad mood that she neglected to do her job. While she was sitting in the kitchen enjoying some of the couple’s fancy chocolate, the maid thought of a vicious idea. She slowly made her way into the room where the dolls were kept. She thought for a moment about how sad the old woman was about her broken doll. The maid picked up a doll and said, “She must really love these dolls,” and threw the doll on the floor. It shattered and the maid smiled.

She loved the feeling of breaking dolls. Something about the shattering sound pleased her. She threw more and more dolls to the floor. She was still in her doll-killing rage when the old couple came through the door. The old woman ran to her broken dolls. She looked up at the maid with a baleful expression and asked, “What are you doing?” The husband, seeing his wife so upset, immediately told the maid she was fired.

The maid collected her things and left in an even worse mood before. She was so angry that later that night she snuck back into the old couple’s home. Knowing they would be sound asleep, she crept into the kitchen, found the biggest knife she could, and made her way to the bedroom.

The next morning, the maid returned to the house and acted like an innocent bystander and told the police that she worked for the couple. She played the sorry victim that had lost good friends. She told police that the old couple were loving, nice, caring people and she had no idea why anyone would want to kill them.

At that point, she slowly walked into the house, saying she wished to make sure no one had hurt the old woman’s precious doll colection. When she got to the talking doll she picked it up and pulled the cord. “Hello”, it said. She pulled the cord again, and it said “Why did you kill my momma?”

The maid looked horified. “What did you just say?”

“Why did you kill momma?” asked the doll. The maid stared in shock. She kept pulling the cord. “Why did you kill my momma? She was a nice momma. I loved her very much. Why did you kill my momma?” The maid stared at the doll. She could not believe this was happening. “YOU KILLED MY MOMMA!” the doll screamed. The maid threw it to the ground and ran from the house.

The next morning the maid was found dead in her bed. In her arms was the talking doll. When investigators pulled the cord on the dolls back it just kept repeating, “She killed my momma. She killed my momma. She killed my momma…”

  • That is a very evil maid! I mean, just because she’s mad it doesn’t mean she has to go killing dolls and people! She definitely got what she deserved! 10/10

  • i’d never mess with dolls to begin with! I remember my dad buying 3 antique dolls for me and my mother when i was very little-they weren’t vintage, but new. And we’d made a shelf for the three of them to stand in, the shelf was built on the wall in front of my bed, so i’d always catch their penetrating eyes glaring at me while trying to sleep, so when my mum gave birth to my sister she allowed her to sleep in my room in her little white wooden cot as i was scared, oh the memories! Sorry i got carried away!!!

  • NOO! I meant don’t flipping pull the doll’s cord again if she keeps asking why did you kill my momma. I didn’t know my mouse was on the, “Post Comment” button and clicked. Sorry!

  • She deserved it! Why would they deserve to be killed. They fired her for good reason. And don’t flipping

  • didnt the talking doll shatter when she threw it by the way good story and the maid deserved it 8.2 out of 10 chocolates

  • So in this story, the maid was the evil one and the doll just avenged the nice lady’s murder. Way to go Dolly! :)

  • Wow i liked this one…. i am always scared of dolls especially the barbies…they are so weird…. my sister always take the advantage of this to scare the hell out of me..

  • Wow. I found this short story to be one of the most interesting ones! Mainly because this is an abstract idea, in my opinion; most of the others on here, I’ve read before. This one, however, I have never seen before. It’s perfectly creepy, but not scary. Nonetheless, it’s wonderful!

  • thats why i freak out when i look at those freaky dolls especially directly into their eyes, fu*k they are scary and creepy.
but atleast i don’t go all killer-rage mode dolls.

  • A version of this story came on beyond belief fact or fiction. it was called the battered doll. the maid killed the couple with exhaust from their cars as they slept and confessed to the crime after the doll accused her. love bothe versions! great story!!!

  • heheh. i have a creepy porclain doll. but she has no voice box, sadly. her name is pollyanna and my friends are terrified of her lol.

  • This story is about a young Japanese girl named Saruka. One day in 2006 in Fall River, Massachusetts she was on the way to the grocery store, when she stopped in front of an old cabin. Saruka was one of those girls who enjoyed the scary things and wanted to go into the cabin just to cure her curiosity. When Saruka got out of her car she smelt a horrible smell that smelt kind of like rotting flesh. Every step Saruka took she smelt got stronger and stronger. When she got up to the cabin it was dead silent. “Hello, hello is anyone in here?” Saruka got no response.
Saruka went around the cabin just to explore. She stopped a room that looked like it could have been a nursery one time. Saruka went into the room and then suddenly BAM! The door shut behind her. Saruka ran over to the door and pounded on it as hard as she could, screaming “LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT!!” She heard a laughing that sounded like an eleven year old behind her. Saruka slowly turned around to see that there was a pale girl with black hair and a white ripped-up dress. She also noticed that her mouth was sewn shut, her name was Jenny. Saruka screamed at the top of her lungs and then kicked the door down. She ran outside, got into her car, and drove off.
Saruka drove away as fast as she could………….. Then all of a sudden the same girl that she saw in the room in the cabin appeared right in the middle of the street. Saruka slammed on her brake and went right into a tree and passed out. Jenny took Saruka into a strange place in the cabin. It looked like a surgeon room. Jenny sewed Saruka’s lips together just like Jenny has had hers sewn. Saruka went missing and when the cops found her, Saruka’s lips were sewn and she died ‘cause of too much blood loss. 3 years later another girl named Amber went into that same cabin and got killed by Saruka by getting her lips sewn.
So remember guys, if you ever go to Fall River, NEVER, I repeat NEVER go into the cabin or the consequences will come.

  • wow, this story is so different from the other doll stories!! but seriously, why did she kill her momma? i would have done the same thing to the maid. the doll is a nice person, the maid is evil…EVIL!!! lol XP
