Zombie Survival was the theme of Dial Z For Zombies, one of my favorite stories from the Simpsons Halloween special Treehouse of Horror.
Bart finds a book of black magic in the school library and decides to cheer Lisa up by bringing her cat Snowball 1 (who was “run over by the Mayor’s beer-swilling brother, Clovis”) back from the dead. He fails, but instead raises an army of the undead who go forth and attack the residents of Springfield.
