  • Hey soulserenade, are you a boy or a girl? AND GUESS WHAT EVERYONE!!! I TURN 13 TOMORROW!!! :D

  • @soulserenade
    Yes, I am twelve. I wouldn’t lie to you. But don’t you be hitting on twelve-year-olds, some of my best friends are twelve! XD I’m just messing with you.
    But if you want some tips for how to write a story, I have a few tricks.
    If you’re writing a scary story, in my opinion, it’s best to end with a line that sends a chill down your spine. Something that either has a sense of grim finality to it, or gives you the feeling that it isn’t over.
    Another thing that helps writing is well-structured sentences. Make sure they’re filling, and leave you wanting to keep reading.
    Also, make sure you use plenty of descriptive words, but not so many that you bore your reader, or cause the sentence to become a run-on.
    And if you want a mental excercise to improve writing, there is one that I use that is simple and even kind of fun. Every time something interesting or funny happens to me, I jot it down in my head using as much descriptive wording as I can, and then think of how it would work out in a story.
    I’m not a professional, but I really hope these writing tips help you. :) I know they help me.

    Thanks so much! I actually am apting to become an author. I’m doing well so far, too! I’m only 12 and I already had work of mine legit published in a magazine! :D

    @Mole.D.Cheese
    Thank you for your kind words. It’s a bit up to the reader who the guy is. I wrote it like I did because it’s even more interesting (at least in my opinion) when everyone has a different idea of who that guy was. :) However, I personally see it as that painting is haunted by the soul of the artist, and he traps people, forever expanding his gallery. But you’re entitled to your own. :)

    I really enjoyed reading “The Painting.” But I’m a little curious as to who the man that Liz was obsessed with in the painting was. What’s his story? It seemed to me that he was the one that was luring her in. Maybe he has no story, but that’s how much I got into reading it that I wanted more details. I liked how there was a romantic yet creepy quality to the story. It hit the spot, good job!

  • @xXPhantomFangWolfXx AMAZING story like always! :D
    You should become a writer! Huzzah!
