Drawbridge

Drawbridge is a very small ghost town on the outskirts of San Jose near San Francisco Bay. In 1876 it consisted of a single dwelling but gradually it grew into a small town.

Drawbridge

Drawbridge began as a gaming village. With the 1920’s and prohibition, the town boomed for a while as people rode special trains out to Drawbridge. However it was essentially abandoned in the 1930’s with the end of prohibition.

Drawbridge has been a ghost town since 1979 and is slowly sinking into the marshlands. Other hazards include hidden marshes and waterways, or rusty nails lying near the ghost town’s remaining 13 buildings. It’s not a safe place to be.
