1. Silent Night Deadly Night (1984)
After a young boy named Billy witnesses his parents being murdered, he is sent to an orphanage where he is abused by the nuns. He grows up to become a killer who goes on a murderous rampage dressed as Santa Claus. Best bit: When the boy’s catatonic grandfather suddenly comes to life, grabs him and tells him that Santa punishes naughty children.
2. Black Christmas (1974)
During the Christmas holidays, the girls in a sorority house are terrorized by a stranger who makes frightening phone calls. Soon the crazy person breaks into the house and starts murdering the sorority sisters one by one.
3. The Christmas Tale (2006)
This film is actually part of a Spanish TV series called “Six films To Keep You Awake”. Some kids are playing in the woods when they come across a woman dressed in a Santa Claus suit trapped at the bottom of a very deep well. When they realize she is a thief, they tell her they will only help her out if she gives them the cash. They keep her captive in the well, feeding her occasionally, but eventually, the woman manages to escape. Filled with rage and a hunger for revenge, she tracks the kids down and tries to kill them. This is a relatively unknown horror movie, but it is really good and definitely worth watching.
4. Child’s Play
The Chucky Doll is the most popular kids toy on the market, but one boy discovers that his doll is possessed by a dead serial killer.
5. Silent Night (2012)
A serial killer in a Santa suit goes on a murderous rampage every year. This is a remake of Silent Night, Deadly Night but it bears very little resemblance to the original.
6. Jack Frost (1996)
A silly but fun slasher movie featuring a sentient snowman. A serial killer dies, comes back as a snowman and proceeds to wreak havoc on the residents of a small town.
7. And All Through the House
This is a segment of the horror anthology movie Tales from the Crypt (1972). Joan Collins plays a woman who murders her husband on Christmas Eve. She tries to hide the body while her daughter is asleep upstairs, but then she hears a newsflash on the radio saying a crazed lunatic has escaped from the local mental asylum and is dressed in a santa suit.
8. Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale (2010)
In this Finnish movie, a secret drilling project uncovers an old tomb and two kids come face to face with an evil, killer Santa Claus who punishes naughty children.

A relaxing Christmas vacation turns into a terrifying fight for survival as the children begin to turn on their parents.
10. The Grither
This is from an episode of Tales from the Darkside called “Seasons of Belief”. It features an old man telling his grandchildren a scary story about a legendary monster named The Grither that kills anyone who speaks his name. It is based on a short horror story by Michael Bishop.
11. Sint (Saint) (2010)
A Dutch horror film that depicts St. Nicholas as a murderous ghost named Sinterklaas who kidnaps and murders children whenever there is a full moon.
12. Santa’s Slay (2005)
Santa Claus is actually a satanic demon who lost a bet with an Angel, so he has to deliver toys and presents for 1000 years. But when the bet is off, he returns to his evil ways. Best bit: Fran Drescher drowning in eggnog.
13. Santa Claws (1996)
A B-horror movie actress is stalked by a deranged fan bent on claiming her for himself.
14. Christmas Evil (1980)
A psycho in a Santa suit gets to decide who’s been naughty and who’s been nice.
15. Elves (1989)
A young woman and two of her friends are trapped in a department store with an evil elf, and only Santa Claus can save them.
16. Don’t Open Till Christmas (1984)
In London, a psychopath is killing anyone in a santa suit and the police are in a race to catch him before it’s too late.
17. Dead End (2003)
On Christmas Eve, a family are driving to their in-laws house. When they take a shortcut, it turns out to be the biggest mistake of their lives.
18. Wind Chill (2007)
Two college students share a ride home for the holidays. When they break down on a deserted stretch of road, they’re preyed upon by the ghosts of people who have died there.
